The 2023 Lockwood Open - Join Us For Golf, Saturday, August 19th

Event Information

To continue one of the fine traditions that we started in our Centennial Year, the annual Ohio Gamma Sig Ep Golf Outing – The Lockwood - will be held on Saturday August 19, 2023. This event is open to both Alumni and Undergraduate Brothers. We had a great time in 2021 so you will not want to miss the event this year. We are playing at Bent Tree Golf Club (350 Bent Tree Road, Sunbury, Ohio 43074 (740-965-5140). Bent Tree is a fine 6642 yard track located 1 mile east of I-71 & State Route 36. It is naturally wooded with rolling terrain, bent grass greens, & tees. The Bent Tree website can aid with directions and/or questions. This could be quite a challenge!!

Therefore, we are planning a four man scramble event followed by cash prizes to the winners and beverages in the Club House. If you have particular Brothers that you would like to play with, please indicate their names on the response form. If you don’t have a foursome, we will set up pairings based upon skill levels. The Golf committee does reserve the right to adjust the teams to insure a balance of skill levels. We will assemble at Bent Tree at 12:30pm, arrange the teams and tee off beginning at 1:30 p.m. Food is available for order at the bar either before or after golf. So, after the round we will be enjoying a beverage or two and presenting the awards.

There is one change this year. We expect a good turnout. More Alums & more Undergrads (60 in the chapter) are expected to play. We (Golf Committee) increased the number of tee times to 48 (up from 40) in anticipation of increased demand.

CHANGE this year - To ensure we have a nice balance of Alums & Undergrads we are limiting registration as follows:
• Alums – First 28 players who sign up. Excess signups will go on a waiting list.
• Undergrads – First 20 players who sign up. Excess signups will go on a waiting list.
• The day before play - If one group does not use all their slots; and the other group has a waiting list – I will use that waiting list to fill in all the slots. If we are full then registration will close.

We are encouraging Alums & Undergrads to play together. If you only have a 2 some or a 3 some you may get an Undergrad added or an Alum. Of course we will honor those folks who ask to play with other specific players.

Once again we will pay for the undergrads green fees, cart, & rental clubs. NOTE – Bent Tree only has 3 sets of rentals so bring some clubs if you can.

To help Undergrads who play, the golf committee is again asking for –

DONATIONS – Our outing’s purpose is to promote Brotherhood & have a good time. Brotherhood between/among Alums & the Undergrads is a key part of this event. To help defer their fees – We are asking our Alumni to donate $20 or more towards this cost. We had good donations last year; and they really made a difference. Your contribution is well worth it & much appreciated.

Cost: Alums Golf - $80 per person includes green fees, cart, 2 drink tickets and prizes. Your donations matter.

• Buy Mulligans!!! The day of the event at $10 per Mulligan (or include with your event fees.) No limit on Mulligans. Just might help your team win the event. Excess funds will be donated to one of the Ohio Gamma Sig Ep Scholarship Funds.
