Homecoming this year is October 1 vs. Rutgers. Game time is 3:30 pm.
We have planned a “tailgate” at the Chapter House this year. The near total remodel of the House was finished this year with the remodeling of the sleeping rooms. So, we virtually have a new house inside! We thought alumni would like to see the House and meet some of our undergrads.
The House will be open at 10:30 am with lunch starting at 11:30 am. The undergrads will be trickling over to their “Block party” which they hold for all home games around Noon. Their Block parties are with a sorority, so you get the picture!
Parking is available for a fee in the church lot to our North but plan to get there at least 3 hours before game time for the best chance to get a spot. The lot does fill up early. The Arps garage on campus at West 18th and High Street is another nearby option. It is $25 and credit card only.
The tailgate will include a cash bar and lunch. There is no charge for the lunch, but in order to get a count of how much food and drink to order, please complete the RSVP here. Walk-ins without RSVP are acceptable, but if you just think you are coming, please let us know in advance.
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Worthington Holiday Inn Express at 55 Hutchinson Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43235. Room rate is $120 and includes a breakfast buffet and free parking. This hotel is near the intersection of I-270 and High Street (Rt.23) not too far from the airport and 20 minutes to campus. It will be best to call to book a room rather than doing it online. The number is 614-977-0520. Ask for the rate for SPE Group.
We were also able to obtain a 20-seat block of game tickets for those interested. Tickets are $80 each and we can transfer them to your cell phone. Let us know quickly if you would like tickets. Of course, the game will also be on at the House if you just want to stay there!
