Hall of Fame and Loungegate 2018

Oct 5, 2018

Event Information

Brothers

For the past 8 years we have been honoring our alumni at the Sigma Phi Epsilon Hall of Fame Celebration.  2018 marks the 110th Anniversary of the founding of our Chapter.

So it is a special year and we wanted to recognize the accomplishments of our Chapter.  Accordingly, we want to honor the Founders of our Balanced Man Chapter who will be our special guests for the evening.  The Balanced Man Chapter, as we know it today with its accomplishments, came about from the hard work of the men, and women, who were initiated from January 25, 2001 to November 2, 2002 when we received our new charter.

In addition, we will continue the tradition of presenting the following awards.

Our honoree and featured speaker for the George E. Smith Distinguished Alumni award is Jeff Odenwald 1969.  Jeff was an executive in Major League Baseball with the “Big Red Machine” of the Cincinnati Reds in the mid ‘70’s, Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers when Bo Schembechler was President of the Tigers and after he finished his coaching days at that “school up north”.  Jeff has lots of stories to tell about MLB!

Our Honoree for the Robert B. Barnett Outstanding Alumni Service Award is Kay Robinson 2002.  Kay was our Former Balanced Man Steward and Assistant Director of Campus Activities while at OSU. She is currently Director Campus Activities University of Central Oklahoma.

We are also honoring Don Stenta, our Chapter Advisor, who was the first to suggest the Balanced Man concept at OSU and our advisor for almost 20 years. A full list of Balanced Man founders who are attending can be found here, on our website.

The event will be Friday, October 5, 2018. beginning at 5:30 p.m. The venue will be The Ohio Union at OSU, Cartoon Room, 3rd Floor, 1739 High St., Columbus.
